When the Earth was young the conditions were not good for the formation of life, but on Mars the conditions were favourable and we believe that life may have formed on Mars first and then by chance carried to Earth on a meteorite that was once a part of the Martian landscape.
This picture captures the moment when the rock, carrying early bacterial life, left Mars.
The Sun is of the correct size e.g. smaller because Mars is further away from the Sun than Earth.
There is a very thin atmosphere on Mars so there is no paling of colours/bluing of colours with distance as we are used to on Earth.
The sky on Mars is yellow and brown, which has tinges of pink at sunrise and sunset.
In the top right hand corner is a pale 'blue dot' - this is the Earth as seen from Mars - that's all we are a pale blue dot!
